From business owners (account holders):

Name and email address (for your account)
Business name and Google review link
Billing information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)

From end customers (your customers):

Name and phone number (entered by you, the business owner)
Star rating and optional feedback text they submit
Whether they clicked the Google review link

Automatically collected:

Aggregate, anonymized page view and traffic data via Vercel Analytics (no cookies, no personal identifiers)
Session cookies used solely for authentication (managed by Supabase)

2. How We Use Information

To send review request SMS messages on your behalf via Twilio
To display feedback and analytics in your dashboard
To process payments via Stripe
To send transactional emails (account verification, notifications) via Resend
To communicate with you about your account
To improve and operate our service

We do not sell your data or your customers’ data to any third party.

3. SMS Messaging and End Customer Data

FiveStarText collects phone numbers entered by business owners for the sole purpose of sending SMS review request messages to their customers on their behalf.

We collect phone numbers. Phone numbers are entered by you (the business owner) and used exclusively to send review requests on your behalf.
We send SMS messages. Messages are sent via Twilio and include opt-out instructions in every message.
We do not sell or share mobile opt-in data. Phone numbers and SMS opt-in data are never sold, rented, or shared with any third party for marketing or any other purpose. This data is used solely to operate the review request service on your behalf.

Customers can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Opt-outs are processed automatically and immediately by our SMS provider (Twilio). Additional opt-out keywords supported: UNSUBSCRIBE, END, CANCEL, QUIT.

4. Data Sharing

We share data only with the following service providers who help us operate the platform:

Twilio — SMS delivery
Supabase — Database and authentication
Stripe — Payment processing
Resend — Transactional email delivery
Vercel — Hosting and anonymized analytics
Google — Business search via the Places API (business name/address lookups only)

Each provider is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

5. Marketing and Outreach

If you are a prospective customer, we may collect your business name and email address for sales outreach purposes. Outreach emails may include standard tracking technologies (open pixels and click tracking) to measure engagement. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time by clicking that link or emailing support@fivestartext.com. We will honor all opt-out requests promptly.

6. Cookies & Tracking

FiveStarText uses session cookies strictly for authentication purposes (to keep you logged in). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. Our analytics provider (Vercel Analytics) operates without cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your account, you may request deletion of your data by emailing us. End customer data is retained for as long as you maintain your account, so your review history remains accessible.

8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

Know what personal information we collect and how it is used
Request deletion of your personal information
Opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information)
Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS), row-level security in our database, and access controls to protect your data.
